Went there a couple times on business. It’s very familiar to a Californian, especially Sydney. I don’t have good memories of Melbourne, however. Darwin, on the other hand, is one of the most unusual cities I have ever seen. When I was there my distributor and I must have been the only two people in the whole town wearing ties, let alone suits. It’s an incredibly laid-back place, and worth a visit.
Australia Plus: Very nice weather in Sydney.
Australia Minus: TVs in every public place, even airports, which bothered me a lot at the time (early nineties), but isn’t so unusually horrible now that the same thing seems to be going on in the USA as well.
